what would god be like if he was 2.0?
i dream my self lying on the grass.. i dream my self looking at the night sky..
they say that when we look at the sky we see the world in it's creation 'cause what we see now happened millions and millions of years ago but the universe is so vast that it takes all that time for the light to travel to earth..
i've asked my self -- what is to witness the creation of a world? how does it feel?
then i ask my self -- what is to create a world? what does it take?
to be god most probably..
but i aint no god as far as i know.. or at least not in this world..
but in this other world -- the world of mark up.. styles.. client side scripting -- i do have the knowledge and the ability to create.. not worlds but still something..
and i wonder.. what would god be like if he was 2.0? what would the world be like if god was 2.0?
what would he use to create the world?
well the back end is obvious -- some good old-school god-only-knows server side language that spits out the most perfect semantic well-formed (and so on and so on) mark up the world has ever seen..
but that's god being 1.0 and the resulting world would also be 1.0 .. and we all know god did that in kindergarden.. goddeous kindergarden that is..
i wouldn't actually mind if the world is 1.0 .. not at all.. but ermmm.. you know gods.. they like to .. what ever they like to do.. they probably mock each other out and and praise out loud -- ooh look what world i've created.. and yours is nothing compared to mine -- or stuff like that.. i mean we humans do it .. in way.. i mean men mostly -- look what chick i dugg.. or -- look at my big [di: ai si: kei] -- and we men go for it like suckers.. one way or another we compete.. and it IS a shame to be a loser..
and nobody wants to be a looser.. not even a god wants it..
and the next logical question obviously is -- what would god use to be 2.0? to make the world 2.0? would he use mochikit .. or jquery .. or dojo.. or yui.. or what-so-fucking-ever.. (i'd go for prototype and scriptaculous -- but the only reason i'd do that is that it's the only toolkit i am familiar with)
but whatever he would choose -- it would be allright.. actually would be the right..
and the genesis would look different -- now would not it?
starting up in an empty world.. hand coding up form scratch the object model.. probably using some associative arrays.. something like..
var World = { version: "2.0", build: "1", ...}...World.init();and that's it.. that simple.. i mean it's simple from a god's point of view.. he'll probably have to code some .. fifty gazzillion lines of code to get all the hacks right for he different religion engines.. but hey -- he can do it..
and once having the code right.. the objects.. events.. queues.. and if the asynchronous layer is set up ok thus allowing changes to the world in runtime -- no more need of great floods.. or blazing fireballed armageddons.. no -- just navigatin trough the world object model and modifying / removing the pesky node..
no more diseases.. wars.. bad things in short.. sounds like heaven in a way..
but i am no god like i said.. what do i know about making worlds..
just some thoughts i had while dreaming i was looking at the night sky.. what would the world be like if it was perfect? (not saying 2.0 is)
i guess we aint never gonna know.. and yet i see no reason why we should stop trying to achieve it.. i mean perfect world.. or if not perfect better..
smile ;) it's a starting..
